Westport, Conn.

James P. Ferrone of Westport and Stuart, Florida, died Dec. 30, 2017 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 82. 

Born Sept. 5, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late James and Angela Ferrone. 

He was a Staples High School graduate and the founder of James Ferrone Landscaping Inc. which he ran for 35 years. 

His passion was boating and he was a life member of the South Norwalk Boat Club. He loved the outdoors, and his happiest memories were times spent fishing and hunting with family and friends.

He especially enjoyed spending time on Long Island Sound, Florida, and on his island in Canada.

He is survived by his life partner, Sandra Dominick of Norwalk, a son, James P. Ferrone and his wife Lisa of Westport, and a daughter, Laura Salamon and her husband Blake of Hillsboro, Oregon, two sisters, Leonora Kuczo of Norwalk, Marie Belfiore of Torrington, and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on FRIDAY, January 6, 2018 at 11:00AM in the Church of the Assumption, 98 Riverside Avenue, Westport.  

Interment will follow here at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of James name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN, 38101.
