Obituary of Viginia C. Finnie

NORWALK, CONN Virginia Claire Finnie of Norwalk, age 99, wife of the late Robert Lloyd Finnie, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2025. Born on November 15, 1925, in Stamford to Martin B. and Louise M. Wood. A Norwalk resident for the past seventy years, she grew up in Springdale and was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1943. She was employed as an accountant with Harry Meyers CPA in Westport for many years, a job that she loved, and retired from in 2002. Her favorite things were golf, gardening, the NY Yankees, crossword puzzles and enjoying time at her beach home in Topsail Island, NC. She was a member of the Norwalk Women's Club, serving as Treasurer for many years, and a lover of animals. Survived by her beloved son, Scott Finnie of Norwalk, daughter, Lori Viselli and her partner, Brian Cullen of Wilton, her stepdaughter, Judith O'Meara of Norwalk and her grandson, Logan Finnie of Norwalk and step-grandchildren, David O'Meara and his wife Jill of Canton, Georgia and Deborah Filiatrault and husband Luc of Quebec, step-great-grandchildren, Jarod and Danielle O'Meara and Nicholas and Tristan Filiatrault. Virginia will be remembered as a wonderful mother and best friend to her children, her friendly demeanor, as well as her great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. Interment will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 12:30PM in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport.
