WESTPORT, CONN Mrs. Anita E. Porzio, 78, a longtime resident of Westport, CT and wife of Michael Porzio, passed away on Tuesday November 25, 2025 in Wilton Meadows Rehab. Anita was born on Apr. 9, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Lawrence and Marie Savarese. Anita Graduated from Manhattanville University in 1969 with a major in Music Education and a minor in Piano. She went on to teach music at St. Philip Church in Norwalk for many years, where she was also the church organist. She then became the church organist at Assumption Church in Westport. Above all Anita stood for God, Family and Country. In addition to her husband Michael, survivors include three sons: Nando Porzio, Michael Porzio and Bert Porzio, three brothers: Frank Savarese, Lawrence A. Savarese Jr. and Edgar Savarese, one sister: Ramona Mastrangelo, 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anita was predeceased by one daughter: Marielisa Porzio and two sisters: Norma Sampson and Lorraine Russo. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Saturday November 29, 2025 at 10 a.m., meeting directly at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport. Interment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St. Westport. Contributions in memory of Anita in lieu of flowers may be made to Assumption Church in Westport, or a charity of your choice.
