WESTPORT, CONN
Andrew Vincent Ippolito, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, in Westport, Connecticut, on February 9, 2026, at the age of 95. Born in Long Island City, New York, Andrew lived a life rich in family, career, and service.
He was predeceased by his wife Constance Mary Ippolito in 2020 and his son Andrew Paul Ippolito in 1968. He is survived by his children: Jenette, Paul (and his wife Lisa), and Michael (and his wife Caroline). He also leaves behind grandchildren Vanessa (and her husband Steve), Andraya (and her husband Keenan), Andrew, Dimitra, Michael, Sofia, Paul, Christofer, and Lucas. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Vanessa’s daughters, Cosette and Charlotte, and Andraya’s children, Daniel, Keenan, Jaxon and Josephine.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, Andrew graduated from Georgetown University in International Affairs and later earned a Master’s in Library Sciences from Pratt University. He spent the majority of his career at Newsday, where he led the research and library department, and later founded Library Directory Associates.
Andrew was deeply involved in politics throughout his life and attended the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He was known for his kindness, leadership, and dedication to family and community. He touched the lives of so many people throughout his life.
A wake will be held at Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, Connecticut, on Sunday February 15th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Luke’s Church, 49 Turkey Hill Road North, Westport, Connecticut, on Monday February 16th at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport, Connecticut.
