Obituary of Keith D. Werwin

Please share a memory of Keith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
NORWALK, CONN It is with great sadness that Keith DeVer Werwin passed away on June 30th while surrounded by his adoring family. He was 78 and lived in Norwalk with his loving wife, Felice Werwin. Awaiting him in God’s kingdom are his parents, Lily and Charles Werwin, his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Horst Getschmann, his father and mother-in-law, Pio and Michelina Urso, and his sister-in-law, Yvonne Urso, wife of Pio Urso. Keith’s professional career began as Director of Purchasing at Crawford & Russell/John Brown Engineering. He then went on to work for Lotepro and retired after working as Vice-President of Purchasing for Credit Suisse Bank. His greatest love, pride, and devotion was for his family. He was father to Michelle and Michael Rybnick of Norwalk and Victoria and David Wish of Bethel. He was also the proud grandfather (Pop) to Emily and Holly Rybnick and to Summer, Hudsen, and Max Wish as well as many nieces and nephews. Keith was raised in Lordship, Stratford, where he found his passion for Long Island Sound. He was a former member of the Norwalk Power Squadron and South Norwalk Boat Club and has been an active member of the East Norwalk Yacht Club. His fondest memories include many trips to Fish Island and the Long Island Sound coastline. He was an avid fisherman and even made his own fishing poles. Keith thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He was a master at carpentry, even having built cradles for his grandchildren. He loved gardening and growing all his vegetables from seed. In most recent years, he loved being a creative chef including cooking his seafood specialties, sausage, pizza, and most recently paella. Calling hours will be held in Norwalk at Magner Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7th from 4 to 7pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip Church on Wednesday, July 8th at 10am. Burial with military honors will follow immediately after mass at Willowbrook Cemetery 395 Main St. Westport, CT. The Werwin family welcomes donations in Keith’s memory to be directed to “Paint the Town Pink” Bennett Cancer Center – Stamford Hospital or to St Philip Church in Norwalk. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the excellent medical team at DaVita Kidney Care for the love, support, and the professional care they provided to Keith for the past year.
