Obituary of Andrea M. Dean

NORWALK, CONN.

Andrea M. Dean passed away peacefully at home in Norwalk on May 8, 2108. The wife of Denis P. Dean, she was born in Port Chester, N.Y. on March 14, 1949.

She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Taracka. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1967. She worked at Chase Bank in Stamford for several years before joining General Reinsurance where she worked in human resources for over 20 years.

Andrea found gratification in teaching English as a second language. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, and the beach, including annual trips to Turks and Caicos in the late fall. A’s vibrant personality and sense of humor drew people to her and made for 37 years of a remarkably wonderful marriage.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Janet Senft, in January 2018, and her sister Ella, who died at age 4. She is survived by her devoted husband and her sister, Nancy Taracka, of Byram.

Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk on Friday, May 11 from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be on Saturday, May 12, 11:00 AM at Willowbrook Cemetery.
