Obituary of Wilbert Brown

NORWALK, CONN Wilbert Brown, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Cassena Care of Norwalk. He was born on August 29, 1951 in Williston, South Carolina to the late Ike Brown, Jr. and Ruthie Mae Coleman Brown. Wilbert attended Taylor Business Institute and was the owner of Top Lines Hat and Brown and Benton Jewelry for a number of years and retired from FedEx Corporation. His memory will be treasured by his wife Brenda Benton Brown, his daughter; Kayla Chloe Brown, two sisters; Ruth Brown and Thomasina McClendon, two brothers; Ike Brown, III (Unay) and Forrest McClendon, his godson; Daniel Askew, II, his goddaughter; Skylar Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Fletcher Brown, Charles Edward Brown, Matt Conrad Brown and Eldridge McClendon. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 17 West Ave., Norwalk, CT. with Rev. Dr. Lindsay E. Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport. Services entrusted to Graves Medley Funeral Services, Stamford.
