Obituary of Ann Marie Fanning

Westport, Conn Ann Marie (Hufnagel) Fanning, 67, of Westport, the beloved wife of Jack Fanning, passed away peacefully on March 29th at home with her family by her side. She was born in New York City to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Murphy) Hufnagel and was a longtime Westport resident. In addition to her husband, Ann Marie is survived by her loving son, Michael Fanning of Cambridge, MA; her brother, Joseph Hufnagel and his wife, Barbara, of Bethel, CT; her brother, William Hufnagel, and his wife, Joan, of Montclair, VA; her sister, Marybeth Errico and her husband, Rich, of Valley Stream, NY; her sister, Susan Hufnagel, of Edgewater, NJ, and her sister, Cathy Hufnagel, of New York City; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cherished son, Tom Fanning. Friends may greet her family on Sunday, April 2nd, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Church in Westport. Interment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Ann Marie’s memory to: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Office of Development, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087.
