Many communities see cemeteries as an integral part of their surroundings because it is a place that speaks of their past and links it to their present and future. For individuals it is a vital part of their end of life decisions, selecting a place of final rest and being aware of their own mortality.

It is a place for families and communities to gather for funeral rites. Individuals visit the final resting place of their loved one to spend some peaceful moments. Let us look at the reasons why communities attach importance to cemeteries.

A Place Where History Comes Alive

Cemeteries are closely linked to the history of the community in its vicinity and are repositories of information about people who lived in the surrounding area. The variety of headstones and the details etched on them provide a lot of information about the socio-economic status of people who resided in that area and what they did for the community to grow and prosper.

Connect With The Loved One

A cemetery is a burial place of your loved one and creates a bond with the family of the deceased. Its serene environment and silence offer a place of solace for the grieving family. It is a place to visit loved ones, reminiscence, place flowers and even communicate with the deceased.

Cemeteries are no more seen as dreary places. They are as much a part of the community’s life as many other places around and a peaceful place where you meet the past and look to the future. They are of significance and benefit to the community and need to be maintained and cared for.

If you need any information about our cemetery or services don't hesitate to contact us at Willowbrook Cemetery. We're happy to help.
