Building a Bucket List

A lot of people consider developing a bucket list. This list covers the different things you'd want to do, the hopes you want to pursue, and the milestones you want to achieve before the end of your life.

Build that Bucket List

At Willowbrook Cemetery, we've noticed that many people question if it's necessary to make a bucket list. Here are several things that need to be taken into account:

  • Most of us are now live in a very monotonous manner. We're wrapped up in personal and work obligations. We never think seriously, about what we really want to do, or about the various experiences we want to go through.

  • There's a huge difference between doing the activities you're meant to do versus doing the things you want to do. You reflect on the above as you build a bucket list. Keeping a list is one way to get you motivated about achieving your targets, learning, seeing, or doing new things.

  • It is important to note that the bucket list is somewhat different from the list of live-by-goal or elaborate to-do lists. These lists are often drawn up within particular contexts or in the light of other things such as career, health or success, etc.

  • A bucket list is something different, and it gives you the urge to go out and do the things you just want to do. Often these may be really insignificant things, but they are of significance to you, and they're what you're supposed to add to your bucket list.

  • A bucket list lets you look at your world from a different viewpoint. It can also prove to be insightful, and keep you encouraged to work towards completing activities on your bucket list.
