NORWALK, CONN

Eleanor MacNeill, beloved mother and grandmother, of Norwalk, CT died on April 25th at Norwalk Hospital at the age of 81.

Ellie was born in Queens, NY and lived there until she was married. As a young mother of two she spent years in Connecticut, New York, Ohio and Switzerland before settling in Easton, CT.

She bowled, played tennis and was a fabulous cook and entertainer.

She is survived by her two children and two grandchildren who she loved dearly. Her son Neil MacNeill Jr. lives in Westport with his wife Lauren and their son Benjamin. Her daughter Tracey MacNeill lives in Seattle with her husband Burton Miller and their daughter Beatrice.

Ellie lived for her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible. She cooked and baked with them - rice krispy treats, cupcakes and spaghetti carbonara. They listened to music together including Adele, the Beatles and Mambo Kings. She loved to watch Benjamin play baseball and cherished Beatrice's art work and story telling. The only thing better than spending time with them alone was spending time with them all together. All three loved their sleepovers at Grandma's house.

There will be a memorial service at Harding Funeral home in Westport on Sunday at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of her life at her son's home in Westport.

A private burial will took place here at Willowbrook Cemetery.
