Obituary of Gerald E. Sivick

NEW MILFORD, CONN Gerald E. Sivick of New Milford, CT, passed away June 19, 2021, in New Milford at the age of 83. He was born January 8, 1938, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, son of the late Michael and Mildred (Novitski) Sivick. He graduated from Coughlin High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1955 to 1968. On January 10, 1961, Gerald married Mary Louise McDonald. They lived in Bethel, CT before moving to New Milford 46 yrs. ago. Gerald was the owner of Sivick and Sons Landscaping for twenty-five years, retiring in 2013. He was also a member of the Andrew B. Mygatt VFW Post 1672 in New Milford. Gerald was predeceased by his wife Mary July 11, 2004. He is survived by his sons Michael Sivick and his wife Leah of New Preston, CT, Donald Maurice of Brookfield, CT; daughter Rachel DeSalvo and her husband Randy of New Milford, CT and grandchildren Cade and Tagen Sivick, Tucker Corbett and Brandon and Mariah Oviatt. A graveside service will take place in Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport, CT on Monday June 28, 2021, at 12:30 pm. Contributions in Gerald’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
