Obituary of Janet M. LaReau

WESTPORT, CONN Janet M. LaReau, 58, of Westport and longtime resident of Stratford, wife of Edward C. Luciano, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Janet was born in Bridgeport on May 15, 1963, and is the daughter of Antoinette (Sparano) LaReau and the late Emile LaReau. Janet enjoyed spending her days with her grandchildren, walks on the beach with her husband, and Sunday dinners with her family. She was selfless, loving and always went out of her way to help others. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Edward C. Luciano, of Westport, and her mother, Antoinette LaReau, of Stratford, include a son, Robert Battey of Phoenix, Ariz.; six daughters, Janet Dziekonski and her husband Thomas of Westport, Rebecca Sampieri and her husband Kenneth of Shelton, LeAnn Battey of Westport, Michele Caggiano and her wife Amanda of Stamford, Rita Luettger and her husband Cody of Arlington, Va., and Laura Battey of Stratford, and two brothers, David LaReau and his wife Donna of Stratford, and Jeffrey LaReau and his wife Tara of Stratford; a sister; Nancy Tomasco and her husband David of Stratford, and her four cherished grandchildren, Santino, Jayen, Daniel and Abigail. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m., meeting directly at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St., Westport.
