REDDING, CONN Richard Kastenholz, of Westport, CT and Palm Desert, CA passed away peacefully at age 89 on January 17, 2022 at Ridge Crest in Meadow Ridge in Redding, CT. Richard was born in New York, NY, on June 1, 1932 the second son of the late Frank and Jessie Kastenholz. Richard attended public schools in The Bronx, NY and continued his education at Duke University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and NYU where he received his Masters Degree in Business. Upon graduation, Richard honorably served in the U.S. Navy. Richard married Doris Lourie in the summer of 1959 and started their life together in Riverdale, NY. They had two daughters Debra and Lori, and then moved to Westport, CT. Richard started his illustrious career working for General Foods and remained there until retirement. His hard work and many successes afforded him the ability to be well traveled and to enjoy life fully. Richard is survived by his loving daughters Debra Bonaparte and husband Thomas Bonaparte, and Lori Winthrop, his adored grandchildren Matt Blough, Craig Blough, Sydney Winthrop and Jennifer Winthrop; his only brother Joseph Kastenholz, his nephews Frank and Jim and his longtime partner Joan Slosberg. Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife Doris Kastenholz. Richard was a devoted son, husband, parent, grandparent and partner all his life. A private service will take place for his family.
