WESTPORT, CONN Ruby Allen, 87 years young, beloved wife of Winston Allen, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Friday, November 11, 2022, with her husband by her side. A resident of Westport, CT for forty-eight years, she was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and was one of eight children. Ruby attended Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School Executive Program in 1986. She graduated from Brooklyn College with a bachelor's in finance and from Baruch College, with a master's in Public Administration. Ruby served as an Assistant Vice President of Finance for the 3-billion-dollar Health and Hospital Corporation of New York City for 30 years. Ruby loved traveling the world with her husband for pleasure, and as first lady of the Westport Rotary Foundation, attended 10 International Conferences and served as a volunteer humanitarian for months at a time with her husband in Haiti and South Africa. Ruby is survived by her stepchildren, beloved Vaughn and Julie Allen. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her. Friends may come for a viewing and view a slideshow of Ruby Allen's travels on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at St. Paul's on the Green, 60 East Ave, Norwalk, CT from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A celebration of her life will take place at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St., Westport, CT. The Howard K. Hill Funeral Home of New Haven is directing the arrangements.
