MOUNT PLEASANT, SC Carleen Anne Meyer of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 8, 2024. Carleen was born in New York, NY, and was raised in Closter, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Alfreda Welch and Everett Welch. She now joins them in eternal life. Carly, as she was known by her friends and family, was an incredibly talented designer, who had an impressive career at various fashion houses including Philips-Van Heusen and Brooks Brothers. Carleen was married to her wonderful and caring husband, James Meyer; and was the loving mother to her three beautiful children: Harrison Everett, Arianna Elizabeth Welch, and Garrett James Meyer. Carly also leaves behind her daughter’s husband, Ryan Spadaford; her niece, Lauren Marie Horni and her family including her husband, Chris Horni, their three children Christopher, Addison and Everett, her sister Mary Jo Romeo Pappas and her husband Nicholas Pappas, and her sister Christine Cangialosi. Carly was passionate about her dogs, including Malibu, Mackenzie, Bentley, Riley, Henry and Harriet. A service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2024. at Church of the Holy Spirit, 299 Seven Farms Drive in Daniel Island, South Carolina. Her burial will be privately held at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport, Connecticut. A celebration of Carly’s life will be held at a future date in Mount Pleasant, SC. Local Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Harding Funeral Home of Westport, Connecticut.
