Obituary of Xavier F. Sica

TRUMBULL, CONN Xavier "Sam" Sica passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, at St. Vincent's Hospital. "Sam" as everyone called him was born July 25, 1942, in Perth Amboy, NJ. He lived for his family and gave everything before he took anything. Sam graduated from Stamford High School, Stamford, CT. He began his career as a programmer and worked for many years at Custom Data Systems. After he retired, Sam worked at Creative Mailing as well as Building Blocks Early Learning Center in Monroe, CT as their handyman where he was known as "Mr. Sam". He was a true craftsman and "jack of all trades" who enjoyed sharing his talents with family and friends. He coached for many years in Norwalk Athletics and served as President of the Norwalk International Little League. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pike Sica; his children Joseph Sica and wife JoAnn of North Haven; Dana Kubicko and husband John of Trumbull; Russell Sica and wife Kelly of Trumbull. He adored and was very proud of his grandchildren, Michael Sica, Brian Sica and his wife Regine, Brendon Sica, Tommy Sica, Brittany Kubicko, Meagan Kubicko and Sara Kubicko. He is also survived by his sister, Madeline and brother-in-law Ronald Rybnick of Norwalk, CT and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Church. Burial will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St, Westport, CT. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to: The American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
