Obituary of Marie Carpenter

SHELTON, CONN Mrs. Marie Carpenter, 96, wife of the late Stanley Carpenter and long time resident of Westport, CT passed away on Thursday September 5, 2024 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. Marie was born in Scarsdale, NY on July, 4, 1928 and was the daughter of Arthur and Mary Kurth. Marie served in the Civil Air Patrol after WWII. She worked for many years as a Real Estate agent in Westport, CT first for Mila Grieb Village Realty and then Coldwell Banker Realty. Marie was an avid scuba diver, tennis player and skier. she was a member of the Norwalk Ski Club. Survivors include one son, Mark S. Carpenter and his wife Donna Marie of Lakeway, TX and one nephew, Walter Greenwood of Fort Lauderdale, FL. In addition to her husband Stanley Marie was pre deceased by one sister, Helen Thornton. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday September 13, 2024 meeting directly at Willowbrook Cemetery 395 Main Street Westport, CT at 11:00 AM. Contributions in memory of Marie in lieu of flowers may be made to Potter League for Animals on line at www.potterleague.org. The Harding's of Westport is directing the arrangements.
