STAMFORD, CONN
Tyrone Myers known by his close friends as “Hooks” was called to his final resting place on Friday, December 6, 2024. He was born on April 20, 1946 to the late Stephen Myers Jr. and the late Ethel Baskin Williams in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He later was relocated to Stamford Connecticut and attended Stamford Public Schools.
He graduated from Stamford High School in 1964 and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served faithfully for four years. Upon his discharge from the Air Force he worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
Tyrone was a quiet and loveable person and loved being among his family and friends watching and attending his favorite sports teams. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends on cruises and camping trips.
His memory will be cherished by his longtime partner, Althea Watford, Stamford Connecticut, three sisters, Olivia Paris, Waterbury Connecticut, Carol Mcrae, Conyers Georgia, and Kathy Humes of Alabama, Three Uncles, Joseph Baskin, Sr.(Shirley) Norwalk, Connecticut, Kenneth Baskin, Stockholm Sweden, and Leonard Baskin, Sr. (Juanita), Norwalk Connecticut, God Sister, Nicole Escoffery, Stamford, Connecticut, God Brother, Terrence Summons, Stamford, Connecticut. and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lydia Douglas and Stephen Myers, III, paternal grandparents, Stephen Myers, Sr., Mamie Lee Shiver Myles Forest, maternal grandparents, James Baskin, Sr. and Viola Baskin. Three uncles, James Baskin, Jr., Leroy Baskin, and Johnel Baskin, two aunts, Odessa Porter and Gloria.
Tyrone will be missed, especially by all his friends who he entertained with who will always cherish all his sweet memories.
His burial with full military honors will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 12:45PM in Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main Street, Westport.
