McDonough, GA Mrs. Barbara P. Sherwood, age 64 of McDonough GA, formerly of Norwalk, CT peacefully entered eternal rest Saturday, March 11, 2017, surrounded by her husband, son, brothers and sisters. Barbara was the 1st African American Female policewomen in the City of Norwalk. She retired and relocated to McDonough, GA. Barbara leaves to cherish her memories; Her husband; Oswald Anthony, her mother; Elizabeth Derry, Wilton, CT, Son; Sean J. Roy (Angel), Norwalk, CT., Stepson; Sean Sherwood (Mali) Hawaii, Stepdaughter; CherylAnn Sherwood, New Jersey, Grandchildren; Seanah J. Roy, Eri Sherwood, Julie Sherwood, Kono Sherwood, Geordon Sherwood, Step Grandchildren; Steve Jordan, Haile Ross (Jo’siyah) and Zharia Hines, Godson Jahtavius R. Derry, special sons Jason Cancelli and Jared Smith. Brothers; Ivory Boy Sr. (Gloria) Santee, SC., Eugene Derry Jr., Stratford, CT and Leroy Derry Sr. Danbury, CT. Sisters; Debra Jackson, Decatur GA., Elizabeth Derry, Stratford, CT and Nicole Derry, Stamford, CT., Sister in law; Kathy Buah (George), Accra Ghana, sister in law; Cynthia Derry, Norwalk, CT., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 60 Rockland Rd., Norwalk CT.
